So let's talk about that "scissor" button on the toolbar! This is a preview button that when clicked, will "temporarily" show you how the design will save in regards to "hidden stitches". This means if you have overlapped merged designs, you can click on this button and run the sew simulator or click on the objects in the pane on the right to see what stitches were removed.
Remember that this automatic setting can always be turned off in your preferences.
