Adding color breaks is a very powerful feature of Embrilliance Essentials and very easy to do using the Stop button with the Stitch Simulator screen.
Here I have opened my redwork design from Lindee G Embroidery into Essentials and clicked on the Stitch Simulator button. This adds the color bar with slider above the design -- it is black because this is a one color design.
I move the slider and and watch the design stitch out on screen. When I get to the end of the first part of the heart, I use the blue arrows to position my mouse cursor at the very last stitch of this section. The stitch is shown by the "+"
Press the STOP button and you are prompted to choose a new color -- we just want the machine to stop and can change it later so choose anything and click OK.
Because your design now has two colors, you can select each color and manipulate them - move, cut, copy, paste, rotate etc
Be sure to save your design under a new name so that you still have the original to work with.
