One of the stitch editing functions in Enthusiast is the ability to not only change a stitch to a jump stitch, but to also to make sure that when you do this, that there are locking stitches at either end of the "jump". Sure its great if your machine trims when it encounters a jump, but its not so great if there are no locking stitches at either end! In other editing programs, you have to manually add locking stitches when you change a long stitch to a jump - other wise the machine may trim and unravel and that is not a feature that we want after stitch editing!
So here is a design that has those long stitches in between the "decorative dots". You can tell they are not set to jumps because they are visible in the design - jumps do not show up in the 3D preview.
First you want to zoom in so that you can see the threads easily and then you want to switch to Stitch Editing mode.
Put your mouse on top of the "thread" and single click.....you will see the ENDPOINT of this long stitch get selected. If this is your first time using stitch editing like this, it might be helpful to work on an "open" design with the long stitches so that you become familiar with the visuals of needlepoints being selected.
Now that you have selected the thread, RIGHT click on the thread and you will get a popup menu with various options for the current selection.
Choose the Jump and Ensure Ties and POOF! The thread disappears! If it didn't, that's because you didn't left click on the long stitch first to select it OR you selected something else. Yes, if this happened, go to Edit > Undo which will take you out of stitch editing and undo what you just did so you can start over. I would suggest zooming in closer if you had to undo and make sure that the endpoint of the long stitch is being selected when you click on the thread.
